Formed by talented musicians from Albany County and beyond, Alba Née takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic word for Scotland (“Alba”) and “Née,” a nod to change and transformation. The name also reflects the band’s strong ties to Albany County and the Scottish Highlands, where one member was immersed in traditional folk music from an early age. Together, Alba Nee showcase a moving repertoire of jigs, reels, polkas, waltzes, and instrumental interpretations that celebrate the spirit of Celtic music.
